'Harpist of the Valley'

Art Statement

Harpist of the Valley is a painting inspired by the Victorian era painters.  It began as a portrait of a friend and fellow artist, Joanne Mitchelson.  She plays her haunting medieval ballads beneath an ancient, golden willow tree.  A lady clad in white, she embodies the pure sound of the harp strings which fill the peaceful scene with heavenly music.
